Baraja: “We’ll try to do things right to compete at our best against FC Barcelona"
The Valencia CF coach talks ahead of the Monday fixture against FC Barcelona.
Although the result wasn’t what he had hoped for, Valencia CF captain Dani Parejo continued to make his mark on the club’s history in the defeat against FC Barcelona.
The midfielder became the player with the 20th most appearances in LaLiga for Valencia CF, level with the legendary Javier Subirats.
Since his debut against RCD Mallorca in a 1-1 draw on October 16th, 2011, Parejo has been a consistent mainstay at the club. The Spaniard was awarded the captain’s armband as a result and has proved inspirational to his teammates in the role.
Of his 250 appearances, 108 have resulted in a victory (43%), 66 in draws and 76 in defeat.
Fernando Gómez is the player to have featured the most times in the top tier for Valencia CF, with 420, followed by Ricardo Arias (377) and David Albelda (351).
